I prefer fishing during the week when there are fewer boats out.
This time of the year with all the boats start coming out on the weekends the fishing gets tough.
Many times I’d be fishing by the 41 bridge and boats would buzz my boat on plane 10 feet from me.
Last tarpon run, 3 of us were fishing Boca Pass casting into a bunch of rolling tarpon.
A boater comes up to us on plane, stops in the middle of rolling pod and asks “How the Fishing?”
On the weekend you get all of the wave runners out too, especially near the ramps.
They don’t bother the fishing but they like to run your wake and get very close your the boat going way too fast for my comfort.
People fishing on the weekdays tend to be more hardcore fisherman then the weekender.
They are a lot more courteous and helpful.
I like fishing the markers when the cobia and mackerel are around. Many time when guys come to catch bait while I’m fishing, most will always ask if I want some and give me as much bait as I want.
Or guys that were fishing the wall and ran out bait that come back for more will show me their catch and talk about fishing a little.
In the summer, I usually see the same group of guys out on the water most days.
So you get to know a few and then you have someone to compete with when you’re fishing the same spots.
So, I’m usually out more on the weekdays then weekend.
